Dr. Jamir teaches courses related to Climate Change Adaptation and Food Security at the University.

Dr. Jamir joined TERI University in July 2012 as an Assistant Professor. Prior to joining TERI she was at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), York, UK as a Ph.D. researcher. She has a doctoral degree from the University of York, UK.
 

Her key research expertise is Climate change adaptation, air pollution and food security. Her research interests includes, air pollution and climate change impacts on agricultural crop yield and socio-economic impacts; integrating indigenous knowledge with science for developing climate change related policies and adaptation strategies towards sustainable growth and development. She is also interested in working on environment and development issues by engaging with different stakeholders including local communities and people from different scientific and cultural background.

She has also served as a Core faculty at Global Center for Food Systems Innovation (GCFSI), USAID (2013-2015); and Manager for the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), South Asia Regional Center (2015-2017).

Besides research and teaching engagements, she has also been organizing a number of training workshops related to different areas of sustainable development for researchers, students, policymakers, and other stakeholders from India and other countries with support from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Department of Personnel Training, Government of India, UNEP, etc.
