Dr Suneeti Singh is an expert chemist with a good knowledge of Nanoscience. As a Research scientist at TDNBC, she contributes to several field of research such as separation and preconcentration of heavy metal ions from contaminated industrial water, contaminated soil and removal of impurities from industrial solid waste, chemical synthesis of Nano material. She has synthesized Nano hydroxy apatite(n-HAP) for separation of heavy metal ions like Pb (II), Cd (II), As (II), Cr (II). She has concrete experience in separation and purification of protein using column chromatography technique. She has done Ph.D. in analytical chemistry in 2014 from department of chemistry, Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, Thesis title: On-Line Preconcentration and Determination by FAAS of cadmium and Lead using Modified Amberlite XAD based Chelating resins.
She also has practical experience in instrumental handling such as Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), Flow Injection Analysis System(FIAS), UV/VIS Spectrophotometer, Fourier Transform IR Spectrophotometer, Zeta potential, HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS. Furthermore, she has presented her achievement in research articles, Conferences / Symposia Attended and Poster Presentation. She has established the system which is based on the combination of an on-line preconcentration system with Flow injection analysis and flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FIA-FAAS). This hyphenated technique is used for the selective adsorption and determination of heavy metal ions from industrial waste water. However adsorption is one of the most effective and simplest approaches to remove toxic heavy metal pollutants from aqueous systems. But direct determination of metal ions at trace level in environment samples is one of the most difficult and complicated analytical tasks which is due to their low concentrations and matrix interferences. Thus, there is a need of separating and preconcentrating the analytes of interest prior to their determination. This combination (FIA-FAAS) increases the speed of the preconcentration and analysis process and this approach resulted in significantly enhanced sensitivity and selectivity.
